Style her hair, put her phone or CD player in her hand, and Diva Starz Tia not only understands everything that you've done, but she can talk about it, too. Programmed with dozens of phrases and modes of play, microchipped Tia can chat fashion, music, hairstyles, and shopping endlessly. Adults will admit she's no intellectual, but as one 7-year-old tester commented, "She knows me!" Accompanied by a variety of fashionable outfits (made of hard plastic) that snap on her statue-like body, Tia is a goggle-eyed beauty with a pulsing red mouth, batting eyelashes, a mass of streaked black hair, and some mighty big feet. Electronic sensors placed at strategic intervals on her body help her recognize her accessories, pet, and clothes. When prompted, Tia can play four different games, tell jokes, and sing. She knows when someone is talking to her because an embedded microphone lets her understand when a human playmate has responded.
